Early College Program Application

Here is some information you will need to begin the application process:
  1. Email addresses from two Core Teachers (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies) who will provide a reference for you.
  2. GPA from the last two semesters
  3. Answer the following questions (only 600 characters for your answer):
    • Why do you want to join the Early College Program?
    • Tell us about your academic experience and preparation for the program.
    • If our final spot came down to you and another student, what would set you apart and make you deserving of joining the Early College program?
Students in the Early College Program are enrolled both at La Mirada High School and Cerritos College.  Students will take one-to-two college courses each semester on the La Mirada campus.  These courses will be taught by Cerritos College professors.

Upon graduation from La Mirada High School, students will have earned up to 45 college credits (equivalent to the first two years of college) and will have automatic admission to a UC or a CSU.

This is a competitive program and only 30 students will be selected each year.

Here is a recording of our Parent Webinar (January 31) that explains the program in detail.  The video is about 30 minutes of a presentation plus parent questions.
